Hello everyone!

So SUITS is moving along strongly this semester as you have probably all noticed. Our LAN night was a great success and lots of delicious greasy food was consumed. The food was accompanied by a few new game additions and a hell of a lot of fun.

Last week saw our first ever Trivia Night go strong. We said the SUITS was going to spend more money on you and we definitely are this semester. Trivia Night saw a total of 50 dishes of Newtowns best Thai served up along with free drinks and snacks. Photos from this really fun event can be found on Greg Darke’s flickr account.

Recently, some white squarish objects that have been installed on the walls around School of IT. In case you’re wondering what they are, they’re actually Cisco wireless access points that’s connected to the university network. This means, anyone with a UniKey account will be able to access the internet while connected.

So far I’ve spotted 2 APs in the Masters area, and another AP in the SIT lecture theatre. All you have to do is to find the access point (named “usyd”), and connect to it. Then, you can connect to the internet via VPN or SSH, just follow our tutorials.

Hi Everyone!

So this week on wednesday we held our first Social Night ever and our first BBQ for this semester. Both went really well and everyone seemed to have lots of fun. The Social Night was very successful and I was happy with the turn out. I think we all had a good time playing Super Smash Brothers Brawl, Halo 3, Guitar Hero 3, Goldeneye and many more.

Hello all,
I’m Ben the SUITS Event Coordinator and this semester I’m going to be running this Event Blog. Basically the purpose of this blog is to discuss whats been happening, what is going to happen and hopefully get some feedback from those of you reading this. I think that this blog can become a great accompaniment to the Newsletter (just a little more wordy and a little more personal) and a decent read for all SUITS members.
