What’s an ‘activity based’ workplace? See it for yourself!

Edmund Tse on Sep 22nd 2009

Thank you for those who’ve registered for our upcoming event “Discover your future in IT”! For those who haven’t yet registered, you’re too late because the registration is full!

Not to worry, because next Thursday 1 Oct 09 during the break, we’ll be heading up to Macquarie’s new building at Shelley Street between 12:00pm and 2:00pm.

This is a unique opportunity, because it’s quite a unique office. They call it an ‘activity based’ workplace, where you don’t see offices. There’s not even fixed workspaces!

Macquarie’s new building was featured on ABC Radio National’s By Design recently for its innovative design. You may listen to the audio recording of the program via ABC.

Announcement: Event postponed – Site Visits this Wednesday

Edmund Tse on Jul 21st 2009

Event: A trip to discover Optiver, Atlassian and the new Google-plex

Urgent Notice: This event has has been postponed to the mid-semester break, 29 September, 2009.

Sorry guys, I’m pushing this back a bit because I didn’t quite get the numbers I was expecting. (Why do people go on holidays during the break?) The reason why I’d like this to be more accessible to everyone is because all of Optiver and Atlassian and Google have put in so much to make this a wonderful day, and I would like to share his opportunity with as many people as possible.

So, I’ll keep you updated with any news about this event via Facebook and the SUITS Newsletter and you can keep track of SUITS events via our Google calendar, which you’ll find on our website, http://www.suits.org.au/

By the way, if you’re not getting the newsletters you can let our IT guy (Tim) know by email suits@it.usyd.edu.au
